Bible study and small groups

A home for
the Bible study that meets in person.

Assign the passage or this week's chapter of the sermon series. Collect prayer requests and fill the snack and hosting rota. One shared place for your group to see the plan, do the reading, and show up ready to talk.

Takes about a minute. No card and no church affiliation needed — though churches are very welcome.

For Bible study

Built around the study that meets face to face

Gather And Study started with a real, in-person Bible study, and that is still a core use. It is the organizing layer around the meeting — not a Bible, not a curriculum store, not church management software.

  • Assign the passage, or this week’s chapter of the sermon series
  • Collect prayer requests, shared with your group and nobody else
  • A food sign-up that rotates, plus the hosting and leading rota
  • Add your church in group Settings and the app links out to what it’s studying
  • See who did the reading and who has quietly fallen behind
  • A roster with optional photos, visible only to people in your group

For kids & youth small groups

Kids / youth Bible study (for parents)

Kids don’t need accounts—and parents don’t need another chaotic 25-person group text. Pick Kids / youth Bible study (for parents) when you start your group, and parents get one calm place to coordinate snacks, attendance, and what their child is learning.

Parent-managed kids

One parent account, multiple kids

Parents add their kid(s) with age, grade, a parent phone, and the authorized pickup person—whether they have siblings in the same group or kids in different groups.

Snack rotation & allergies

Allergies right on the Food tab

Total kid headcount and every reported food allergy appear at the top of the snack sign-up sheet so volunteers know exactly what and how much to bring.

Quiet absence RSVPs

No more “can’t make it” text floods

Parents tap “Will be there” or “Can’t make it” per child and leave a short note (soccer game, home sick, arriving 10m late) right on the meeting card.

At-home connection

Memory verse & car-ride prompts

Share the weekly Bible story, memory verse, and “Ask your kid on the way home” questions so parents can reinforce the lesson at home.

Questions

What Bible study leaders ask first

Does it work for church small groups?

Yes. Choose Bible study when you start the group and it adds a prayer list, passage-friendly plans and series templates, and an optional church name and website. If your church is Saddleback, the group can also pull in Saddleback’s weekly Talk It Over guide automatically every Monday.

Does it work for a kids or youth Bible study where parents manage the schedule?

Yes — pick "Kids / youth Bible study (for parents)" when you create the group. Parents hold the accounts (kids do not need logins): each parent adds their child(ren), food allergies, and pickup notes once, signs up for snacks with every allergy visible at the top, marks whether their kid will be there with a quick absence note instead of blowing up a group text, and sees the weekly lesson, memory verse, and car-ride questions in one place.

Do I have to belong to a church?

No. A group can tag a church, each member can tag their own, or nobody can tag anything. Members of one group do not need to share a church, or attend one at all. The tag is a convenience, never a gate.

Does this replace my Bible app?

No, and it is not trying to. Keep reading in whatever app you love. Gather And Study is the layer around the meeting — the plan, the calendar, the roster, the who-actually-did-the-reading.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The core product is free for groups up to twenty members, which covers most groups that meet in person. A paid tier is planned for groups that outgrow that, and an Organizations tier for schools, churches, nonprofits and other organizations running many groups at once — one plan pushed to every group, your branding, roster import. There is nothing to pay today and no card to enter.
